Having started his film journey with Kamal Haasan's production venture 'Magalir Mattum' in 1994, cinematographer Tirru has won his maiden National Award for the 2016 sci-fi flick '24' produced by Suriya.

In his exclusive interview to IndiaGlitz Tirru speaks about his award and the film '24' which has got three National Awards for the year 2016.

"The film's big plus points are production design and VFX. Mr.Julian and his team worked on the VFX part of the film, externally by conceptualising it and they gave it in the manner we required it. Their hard work and the production designer's hard work were imperative and all these together contributed together for my work getting recognised. I mainly expected Suriya sir will get a National award.. He has given completely different performances in all the three characters he played in the film. So much of hardwork. He is also a fantastic producer who understands every nuke and corner of cinema. I also expected an award for Vikram Kumar's screenplay. I did not expect an award for me. I consider any award as an encouragement."
