'Circus' plagiarism

Director Dayal Padmanabhan is caught for plagiarism in his maiden production from Dayal Pictures. The film 'Circus' (Starring Golden star Ganesh, Archana Guptha in the lead) had to make a lot of circus to get out of the controversy. It is related to the subject of the film. The real life happening in the life of well known Kannada cinema director S.Mahender was described to a few persons and he had in fact wanted to direct his own subject one day in his career. On knowing about this subject and not informing director Mahender the producer and director Dayal started the film. On the muhurut day of 'Circus' when Dayal said the film is an incident happened in the life of a director of Kannada cinema it surprised everyone.

After knowing it director Mahender filed a case with the KFCC and claimed compensation of Rs.10 lakhs. On Monday evening the KFCC crisis solving committee passed an order to the whole controversy. Dayal had been directed to pay Rs.1.50 lakh for the subject to Mahender and also the credit in the film. On the argument he made and using wrong words in the presence of elders Dayal has been asked to pay a fine of Rs.25000.

The KFCC treasurer Sa Ra Govindu, Producer sector President KCN Chandrasekhar, Vice President of KFCC Rockline Venkatesh, Tiptur Raghu, Kodlu Ramakrishna, K.Nanjunda, N.Kumar were present at this meeting.

This is the first time the KFCC has taken such drastic step and solved the crisis in just one meeting.
