Chief Minister M Karunanidhi watched the special screening of Periyar at Devi Sridevi Preview theatres in Chennai on Tuesday.The movie which features Sathyaraj in the role of rationalist leader Periyar is directed by Gnanarajasekaran with musical score by Vidyasagar and cinematography by Thangar Bachchan.The State government has given away a sum of Rs 95 lakh as financial aid for producing the movie.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who was closely associated with Periyar, appreciated the cast and crew for giving their best in the movie. He heaped laurels of Sathyaraj and director Gnanarajasekaran for their splendid work. The movie also features Kushboo, Jyothirmayee, and director S S Stanley among others in the cast.
