To match the divine element of the script, Akkineni Nagarjuna's Damarukam will be shot in the backdrop of temples located in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. As is well-known, the film is based on Ameesh Tripathi's famous novel, The Immortals of Meluha. It tells the story of Shiva and Parvathi, who, having born as humans, become Gods in their path of ascendancy.

The spiritual aspect of the film apart, Damarukam has got lots of fantasy and adventure. In a sense, it the first-of-its-kind movie in the history of Indian cinema.

It may be said that RR Movie Makers wants to leave no stone unturned to make it into a previously unheard of cinematic experience. This is the reason why a lavish budget of over Rs. 35 crores has been earmarked for the film.

Starring Anushka, Damarukam is a novel concept and a brave attempt. It was shot for some days till recently at Annapurna Studios. Graphics will be used to a good extent in the film.
