Producer and director of the film 'Datta' - Gurudutt is paying tribute to his father Chi.Udayashanker and brother Ravishanker from his maiden production. His father Chi.Udayashanker was a well known lyricist of Kannada cinema while his brother was a comedy actor on Kannada screen. Gurudutt a powerful actor on Kannada big and small screen is producing and directing this film with lot of hopes.
Hateful nature ruins the life. Instead of it love and affection leads to peaceful life is the one point agenda of the film 'Datta'. Orphan boy Dutta (Darshan) and his friend are leading a careless life. The pranks and typical behavior is distasteful to others. When the heroine comes to know about his true identity (pickpocket) she hates him. But the hero is a modern day Robin Hood. Why the hero behaves like Robin Hood? How he takes up his unfinished task. His affection to mother, action and comedy all pass on at regular intervals in this commercial film 'Datta'.
