This weekend's new releases are 'War Chhod Na Yaar' and 'Baat Bann Gayi'. Both movies were planned for this date since it was assumed that due to 'Besharam' preceding it and 'Boss' arriving in the middle of the week (Wednesday), no other biggie would be willing to arrive during this time period. However, makers of both films have good reasons to be happy about the fact that they now have clean five days available for them since 'Besharam' is a goner and not a competition anymore.

While makers can be happy, they can't really be content with the developments because job is yet to be done. Between the two films, 'War Chhod Na Yaar' is all set to take a relatively better opening since it has been reasonably well promoted. Moreover, content of this controlled budget film is seemingly witty too. Though it would be too much to expect a major opening at the box office, what with 20%-30% footfalls expected to begin with, word of mouth may well help this Sharman Joshi-Soha Ali Khan-Javed Jaffrey starrer see an escalation over the weekend. It would need to be really high though since 'Boss' arrives mid-week.

Another release of the week, 'Baat Bann Gayi', is a comedy as well and marks the arrival of Ali 'Fukrey' Afzal as a solo male lead. The film's promotion has been patchy and the biggest challenge for the team would be to ensure an all-India release.
