The ‘Kolaveri’ boy, Dhanush has signed his first Hindi film! Aanand L Rai of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ fame will be directing Dhanush in his acting debut in Hindi for this film titled ‘Raanjhnaa’. It’s said to be a love story about a ‘simple young man’.

Dhanush bagged a National Award last year for his performance as KP Karuppu in ‘Aadukalam’. "I was awestruck by Dhanush's performance when I watched Aadukalam first. Immediately, I decided to cast him in this script. It requires an actor who is as simple and as talented as Dhanush," expressed Aanand.

Dhanush says, "Aanand is a talented director and I am happy to make my Hindi debut with his film. I don't know Hindi, but I believe it won't be a problem. I will learn the culture first and language will follow the suit."

The actor became popular in the north after the stupendous success of 'Why this kolaveri di...’ a song that took the nation by storm. But he says the 'Raanjhnaa' offer knocked his doors much before 'Kolaveri di...' happened and that’s what impressed him more!
