After the critically acclaimed film ‘Aadukalam’, Dhanush will be seen in a pucca commercial avatar ‘Maappillai’ which is releasing on April 8. The long due film will be the first attraction post-world cup season.

Dhanush’s ‘Maappillai’ is the remake of the 80s Rajinikanth block buster by the same name. The new version is directed by Suraj.

While Dhanush tries to replay the Super Star, Manisha Koirala plays the dominating mother-in-law role played superbly by Srividhya in the original. Hansika Motwani is Amala.

‘Maappillai’ will be followed by the other big films ‘Ko’ and ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ which were expected to release in February. The Jeeva and ‘Jayam’ Ravi films are two weeks after Dhanush film.
