After 'Ethirneechal' and 'Kaakki Sattai' director Durai Senthilkumar has directed his Dhanush in 'Kodi'. The film is touted to be a political thriller and Dhanush plays dual roles for the first time in this film.
Trisha and Anupama Parameshwaran have been roped in to play the heroines for the elder brother and younger brother characters of Dhanush respectively. Veteran director and Ilayathalapathy Vijay's father S.A.Chandrasekhar is acting as Dhanush's father in the film. Kaali Venkat and Sathish act in supporting characters.
Sources reveal that the film deals with a nuclear power plant coming up in a town and peopl’s protest against that.
Young music director Santhosh Narayanan teams up with Dhanush for the first time with this film instead of Anirudh Ravichander who has scored music for many Dhanush films in the recent years.
The shooting of 'Kodi' produced by Dhanush under his Wunderbar Films banner, began last month and it has been wrapped up. The team is presently busy with post-produciton and we can expec t the film to hit the screens in September or October 2016.
The film has acquired clean U certificate from Censor Board.
