The unseemly controversy surrounding certain allegedly detestable references to the Brahmin community in Dhenikaina Ready has only aggravated in the last 24 years.

It all began when the private security personnel on the guard at Mohan Babu's Banjara Hills residence roughed up irate Brahmin protestors who had assembled there. They approached the State Human Rights Commission and so did Manchu Vishnu.

As Vishnu was coming out of the SHRC building, a cabal of protestors who had come there hurled footwear and stones at the actor's car. They also reportedly raised slogans deploring him.

Earlier in the day, a priest made a symbolic 'pinda pradana' for Kona Venkat, the film's writer. Speaking to a tv channel, Kona thanked the priest for the gesture, saying that he was glad that someone had made it for him because he had no son.

It has been reported that scores of members of the Brahmin community have taken to streets in towns like Warangal.
