Dhokha
Is reality always what it seems? Or is it just an illusion?
Is the one you 'seem' to know is someone you 'really know? Or is this person someone else?
No, we are not talking about any 'Matrix-que' world here where what-you-see-is-not-what-it-seems! In fact we are talking about the world where we live. The world which is made of love, emotions and trust.
And when this trust itself gets broken and results in a deadly betrayal, it is nothing but a massive 'dhokha'!
This is what happens with Zaid Ahmed [Muzamil Ibrahim] who always believed that he knew his beautiful and innocent wife Sarah [Tulip Joshi] inside out. With their lovely moments together, they had a blissful life together which seemed just perfect.
One fateful day changed it all.
New Century Club, Mumbai, was witness to a massive bomb blast which claimed numerous lives. One such life was that of Sarah. With his world shattered, for Zaid it seemed like an end of the story.
But was that really the case? Was it an end of the story for Zaid? Or was it instead a beginning?
It in fact was a beginning because on investigation, a horrific truth was revealed. A truth that shocked the living daylights of Zaid.
Shocking because it turned out that Sarah was the person responsible for the bomb blast
Shocking because Sarah was the person responsible for death of dozens of people
Shocking because as claimed by the police, Sarah was a suicide bomber
For Zaid, it was now no more a matter of just believing or ignoring the stories about his wife. For him, it was about looking back at his personal life while trying to figure out how could he miss out on such an glaring aspect of his wife.
More so, because for him it was also the call of duty. Why? Because he was a police officer!
For someone who had to ensure law and order in the city, it was nothing but ironical for him to believe that he had someone like Sarah at his own home. Someone whom he had loved for all these years, spent each and every moment and dreamt about many more years ahead.
Would Zaid be able to live with this 'dhokha' for the rest of his life? Or will he try to get the sequence of events together and find the real cause behind this bombing?
Also starring Gulshan Grover and Ashutosh Rana in key roles, DHOKHA is the third directorial venture for Pooja Bhatt after PAAP and HOLIDAY and comes from the production house VISHESH FILMS. With music by MM Kreem, the film is looking at an Augsut 17 release.
