Dibarkar Banerjee ropes in Nawazudin Siddique

Joining the proficient team of ‘Bombay Talkies’ is filmmaker Dibarkar Banerjee who is adapting short story of Satyajit Ray called 'Star' on celluloid for his next. The ‘Love Sex aur Dhokha’ famed director has roped in stars Nawazudin Siddique and Shiv Amrapukar for pivotal roles.

Reflecting an emotional story of father-son relationship, Banerjee’s adaptation is set against a Maharashtrian backdrop, in a middle class home staying at Dadar central location in Mumbai.

Producer Ashi Duha of Flying Unicorn confirms, "Yes we have adapted Satyajit Ray's short film. Dibarkar Banerjee has set into a very local Marathi flavour to the film."

‘Bombay Talkies’ is a landmark feature film of this year releasing on the centenary date 3 May when we complete 100 years of cinema. ‘Bombay Talkies’ is an ode to cinema by four prolific film makers - Zoya Akhtar, Dibarkar Bannerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar.
