A fresh controversy has been brewing about the genuineness of a letter which was said to have been ‘signed’ by former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa addressing the then Governor Rao a day after she was hospitalized at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on 22nd September, 2016.

Jayalalithaa, adored by millions as ‘Puratchithalaivi’ and ‘Amma’, was declared dead by Apollo Hospitals on the night of 05th December last year, 75 days after she was rushed to the Hospital with complaints of fever and dehydration on 22nd September.  It now turns out that she sent a letter to Governor Rao expressing her ‘best wishes’ on 23rd September, which re-affirms the fact that she was in her senses on that day.

Apollo Hospital had said a few days back that Jayalalithaa was only ‘semi-conscious’ when she was admitted to the Hospital on 22nd September.  It now props up a question of whether or not Jayalalithaa’s signature in her letter addressed to Governor Rao stating ‘Best Wishes’ was genuine; if not, who ‘forged’ her signature and whether it was only for the first time that the late chief-minister’s signature was forged.

With divergent views expressed by Ministers of the State Cabinet on Jayalalithaa being ‘conscious’ during her stay and eating ‘idli’, the genuineness of Jayalalithaa’s signature and who forged it (needle of suspicion points out to jailbird and her former aide Sasikala, though) has stirred up a fresh controversy!
