Malayalam actor Dileep has been lodged in his hometown Aluva prison in connection with masterminding the Bhavana abduction on February 17th this year. People of Kerala have reacted strongly to his demeanour by burning his effigy and also causing damage to his properties.

Today, Dileep's lawyer applied for bail but the Angamaley Judicial First Class Magistrate court has dismissed the petition and ordered that he will remain in police custody for two days for further questioning. It is reported that the senior advocate K. Ramkumar will move the high court.
