The recent addition to the long list of filmmakers foraying into actors is G Kicha. The director, who is currently wielding the megaphone for Arjun starrer ‘Maasi’, would start his acting venture soon.

“It is a longtime dream to don the greasepaint. Though I took several avatars like that of a director and producer, there is no stopping to the fire in me to become an actor. Hence I have decided to appear in front of the camera,” he says. Stating that he is looking for an apt storyline, the director, who had made films like ‘Thangam’ and ‘Thee’ says, “I am hopeful that audience would accept me as a hero.”

On ‘Maasi’, he says, “The story revolves around a police officer played by Arjun. The hero is a man who fights the system in his own way. “It’s a mix of realistic and commercial cinema.”

“The police officer is a very contemporary character and is going to be different from the other policemen Arjun has played so far. The title of the film ‘Maasi’ refers to Maasilamani, the hero in the film,” he adds.
