King Khan Shah Rukh Khan’s most awaited sequel ‘Don 2’ was dragged into copyright issue. It must be recalled that a few days ago Nariman Films, the producers of the original ‘Don’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, slammed a legal notice to Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment. The notice was pertained to issues in regards to copyrighting the title and the storyline.

However, the Excel Entertainment team have brushed off such rumours by preparing a legal statement refuting Nariman Films' accusations. The statement clearly reads that Excel Entertainment is the author and owner of the film series ‘Don - The Chase Begins Again’, with the declaration being confirmed in writing by the original production house. Likewise, the title of ‘Don 2’ has also been given the nod by the AMPTPP (Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme producers). In return, Excel Entertainment has sent a legal notice back to Nariman Films for unjustified allegations.

The press release received to us says that Excel Entertainment making ‘Don 2’ has been in the public domain since 2009. It seems that it has now become a practice to give notices just before release of a film to extract moneys. We at Excel Entertainment have done nothing wrong and shall stick to the correct legal and moral principals and defend what is right.
