Much like the title, Gauravam is a prestigious debut for Allu Aravind's younger son, the very enterprising Sirish. As someone very passionate about cinema, he surprised everyone by reportedly opting to make a debut in Tamil (it was widely reported that he would debut in the Tamil remake of Mr. Perfect). As things did not go well, he latched on to Radha Mohan's script, which was allegedly found to be not-so-exciting by Naga Chaitanya.

Luckily for the director, the producer with a liking for mature stories Prakash Raj liked the script and said that he will make it in Tamil and Telugu. After Chai's exit, the offer went to Sirish.

The film's two schedules have been completed so far. While the first one was shot in Mysore, the second one, wrapped up only yesterday, was shot in Rajahmundry.

Yami Gautham of Vicky Donor fame is the heroine. Music-directed by Thaman, the film will have been done with the completion of two more schedules.

Preetha is the cinematographer. Art direction is by Kathir. Prakash Raj, Nassar, Pavithra Lokesh and LB Sriram, among others, will be playing other key character roles in the movie.
