A peppy album
Tuesday, October 1, 2013 • Telugu Comments

After his last film's success, Vishnu Manch has come to acquire a signature of his own.  This album bears that signature, just as Manoj Manchu's albums do.  Mani Sharma makes a good one, though not a memorable album.

Ramajogayya Sastry and Sri Mani get the mood right.  A range of talented singers make their best to elevate it.

Appudappudu    Listen here

Artists: Dinker, Narendra
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

The song is in keeping with the curious tradition of Vishnu and Ramajogayya Sastry.  It is a good mix of influences.  A crazy number that serves as a good intro song, the lyrics mirror the attitude of the hero.  Dinker and Narendra are alright.  Mani Sharma's instrumentation is pleasing.

Modati Saari    Listen here

Artists: Rahul Sipligunj, Sudhamayi
Lyricist: Sri Mani

This one is a run-of-the-mill longing song.  Sri Mani's lyrics are meaningful.  Where Mani Sharma doesn't excite us is in his failure to give a tuneful melancholy.  The singers deliver a dekko.

Soodimande    Listen here

Artists: Rahul Sipligunj, Sahiti
Lyricist: Sri Mani

Another song by Rahul, this one simply falls flat.  Mani Sharma would have done well to at least draw from his old tunes to perk it up.  Sri Mani's lyrics are not that impressive either.  The instrumentation, the lest we would have loved to have, is another let down.

2010 Summerlo    Listen here

Artist: Sweekar
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

It is a peppy and electrifying number.  Ramajogayya Sastry's simple yet imaginative lyrics are a plus.  Sweekar's youthful vocals bring a special charm.  Above all, Mani Sharma's tuning reminds one of vintage AR Rehman.  A cool hit, it will be.

Tandavamade Shivudae    Listen here

Artists: Shaan, Geetha Madhuri
Lyricist: Sri Mani

The vocals are perfect and the song has that familiar ring.  After Dhee and Ready, such songs have become the order of the day in rom-commy films targeting the family audience.  Shaan and Geetha Madhuri perk it up.  Sri Mani does a decent job.  Mani Sharma could have been more inventive.
