Dr Ambarish the pillar of Kannada cinema and Home Minister in the Congress I government of Karnataka received the Lifetime Achievement award given in the name of Dr Vishnuvardhana his best friend for the year 2010. The award of garland, cheque of Rs.2 lakhs and memento was given to Dr Ambarish in the presence of his wife Sumalatha Ambarish at his residence in JP Nagar by Karnataka Information Minister Roshan Baig. Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Anirudh and Keerthivardhana, Director of Information Department Vishukumar were present.

My best friend should have lived to give this award. I miss him a lot and he would have been extremely happy with this award coming in his name to me`. We lived like to sides of the same coin stated Dr Ambarish.

The magnanimous Dr Ambarish on the spot gave away Rs.2 lakh cheque he received from government of Karnataka to Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana to utilize it for VIBHA charitable trust that is doing lot of social service.

Dr Vishnuvardhana and Dr Vishnuvardhana were declared Kuchiku` friends after the song in Diggajaru`. Dr Vishnuvardhana award declared by government of Karnataka was announced by Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana award panel that was later taken over by SK Bhagwan committee. But the prominent awards were untouched by SK Bhagwan committee that came up after court verdict.

Dr Ambarish on health grounds could not make it to Karnataka State Awards evening held in Dharwad in the month of February. The government for which Dr Ambarish is cabinet minister bestowed the award after six months of gap at his residence.
