On the 60th birthday of icon of Kannada cinema Dr Vishnuvaradhan that falls on September 18 – this year is the first year he is remembered after demise last year December 30th.

The 3 days ‘Simhavalokana’ – Dr Vishnuvaradhan Chitrotsava is celebrated from 17th to 19th of September besides many other programs at the memorial place next to Abhiman studio on Mysore Road.

The three days Dr Vishnuvaradhan film festival will be inaugurated by Smt Puttanna Kanagal at Inox theatre in Garuda Mall. ‘Nagarahavu’ the debut as hero of Dr Vishnu will be screened in the morning show. Four films a day will be screened in a seating capacity of 227.

The other films Malayamarutha, Suprabhata, Veerappanayaka for firstday, Bandhana, Simhadriya Simha, Diggajaru and Karna for the second day and Yajamana, Muthina Hara, Bangaradha Jinke and Laali for the third day have been selected.

On each day, five personalities who are connected to the film and Dr Vishnuvaradhan will be felicitated. The activities on September 18th at the memorial will be attended by fans in large number. The mass feeding has been arranged and a register to take the names of those interested in blood donation will be kept at this place.

Anirudh, son in law of Dr Vishnuvaradhan, is looking after the arrangements for three days and he is supported by Shivaramanna the veteran actor, thinker and philosopher.

Shivaramanna has seen the entry of Dr Vishnu in ‘Nagarahavu’ and exit of Dr Vishnu after ‘Aptha Rakshaka’.
