It was a day abuzz with activities in Bangalore as the birth anniversary of Dr Vishnuvardhana, birthday of Upendra, launch of ‘Upendra 2’, evening party bash and ‘Rebel’ audio release by Karnataka chief Minister S Siddaramaiah gathered attention. Quietly another important heroine of Kannada cinema Shruthi celebrated her birthday.

Dr Vishnuvardhana in Comics was unveiled by Karnataka Governor Hansaraj Bharadwaj at the cremation place of Dr Vishnuvardhana on December 31, 2009. Dr Vishnuvardhana service to the field of art is notable. The memorial for such personality is needed to showcase for the coming generations felt the Governor. Dr Vishnuvardhana Comics is the brainchild of son in law Anirudh Jathanakar. Dr Vishnuvardhana grandsons Jyeshta and Shloka are also part of comics.

A beautifully flower decorated place of Dr Vishnuvardhana had a huge portrait of the actor. Shivaramanna, Ramesh Bhat, KFCC President B Vijayakumar, producer K Manju and others came to the memorial place to pay tributes.

In the evening at ‘Rebel’ audio release the documentary on Dr Vishnuvardhana in the voice of over of veteran KSL Swamee was released in the presence of Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and a few of his cabinet colleagues.
