Another remake in Kannada with two biggies V Ravichandran and P Vasu is taking shape from E 4 Entertainment. It is super hit Malayalam film 'Drishyam' of Mohan Lal and Meena directed and scripted by Jeethu Joseph.
This 'Drishyam' is remade in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Ulaganayakan Dr Kamal Haasan is playing lead in Tamil and Hindi it is learnt while the Telugu is by Victory Venkatesh.
In Kannada the announcement of remake was made by topnotch director P Vasu and he was with trailblazer of Kannada cinema V Ravichandran, Sarathi on behalf of Mukesh R Mehta of E 4 and Srikanth proprietor of Gurusri theatre in Mandya who is joint producer of this film. P Vasu watched this Malayalam cinema twice in the theatre and surprised with the standing ovation audience gave for the film. This kind of family melodrama is right one for Indian audience. It should be available to all the people. When E 4 came with the proposal the selection of V Ravichandran for the Mohan Lal role was obvious.
For the original script P Vasu is making slight alteration in the speed in the first half and no changes in the second half he says. From 5 to 75 this film is applicable and heart touching concludes P Vasu. He is likely to rope in Meena for Kannada version. Meena and V Ravichandran combination was seen in 'Putnanja, Cheluva and Mommoga'.
This family drama cum thriller 'Drishyam' was suggested to V Ravichandran by his colleagues in the industry kichcha Sudeep, Jaggesh, Rockline Venkatesh and Govindu. V Ravichandran was curious to watch the film and finally felt it is right to accept the role in P Vasu direction. V Ravichandran acted in 'Chinna Thambi' remake doing what Shivaji Prabhu had done. That was directed by P Vasu. P Vasu had directed topnotch of Kannada cinema in the past and V Ravichandran was left out.
I am happy to work with a good technician P Vasu. He is a tidy film maker I know. We are friends for a long time from the days of 'Chinna Thambi' and when 'Aptha Mithra' was made the first offer came to me to do the film recalled VR. I would get another breakthrough from this film as the contents connect to the common man of this country says VR.
Director of high reputation in South India recalled his 84 connection with V RAvichandran family. It was first flight I took to Bangalore and N Veeraswamy father of V Ravichandran gave me the job to write screenplay. When I finished the screenplay in one day there was blessing that I would become a big director one day from N Veeraswamy. 'Drishyam' feel I want to continue in Kannada. In Kannada there is good scope for melodrama. Audience love to watch it.
Sarathi representing his boss Mukesh Mehta disclosed that E 4 Entertainment is Chennai based company doing Malayalam films. We knew that P Vasu recreated a history from Malayalam film 'Mani Chitrathal' from Aptha Mithra and Chandramukhi. It is again Mohan Lal film he is taking up for direction pointed Sarathi.
