Dulquer Salmaan's Bollywood debut 'Karwan' directed by Akarsh Khurana has started rolling at Ooty. The 31-year-old will be seen in the role of a Bengaluru-based guy in the film which will also star versatile actor Irrfan Khan. Actor Abhishek Bachchan was initially chosen for the role but had to opt out as his dates clashed with JP Dutta`s film Paltan.

Touted to be a light-hearted comedy, the upcoming venture will feature Dulquer and Irrfan as friends on a road trip. Mithila Palkar who has been part of web series like – Little things, Girl in the City, is also part of the cast. However, there is no romantic connection between Mithila and Dulquer in the film.

Akarsh Khurana who has also co-written the script with Hussain Dalal, the dialogue writer for films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States will mark his directorial debut in the film. Ronnie Screwvala is producing this yet-to-be-titled movie under his banner. The film will be shot in Ooty and Kochi.
