Eight movies will compete for the commercial success during the Ramzan- Onam season of 2012. The big superstars of Malayalam will make their presence felt through the movies 'Thappana' and 'Run Bay Run'. While 'Thappana' will make a release on the 20th of August, 'Run baby Run' will release on the 29th of August.

Dileep will have his 'Mr Marumakan' for the season while Jayaram will have his 'Manthrikan' on theatres. Prithviraj's presence will be through his much delayed Shaji Kailas movie 'Simhasanam'. Apart from these movies Fahad Fazil's 'Friday' and Allu Arjun's 'Gaja Pokiri' will also grace the theaters for this Onam.
