Eli
'Eli' is set in 1960 and Vadivelu plays an undercover cop who infiltrates a gang of smugglers. When there is a traitor among good people he is called a black sheep, but since Vadivelu is a good man among bad men he is called `Eli'. The suffering we undergo when we try to catch a rat in our homes is what the villains suffer when they try to catch `Eli' and all the action scenes are laden with comedy a la Jackie Chan films. Sadha plays a pub girl who falls in love with Vadivelu and even their romance has a high comedy quotient in it. Vaigai Puyal dons many getups in the film with the highlight being his disguise as an American Black man. Others in the cast include Pradeep Rawat, Nellai Siva, Kitty,Adithya,Mahanadi Shankar, Santhana Bharathi, Raj Kapoor and Muthu Kaalai.
Thotta Tharani has constructed huge period sets on which most of the film is being shot. Vidhyasagar is scoring music after a long time and Vadivelu has rendered a song. The film is directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan who earlier collaborated with Vadivelu in the hit film `Thenali Raman' and `Eli' hits the screens on Friday the 19th of June 2015.
