Though 'English Vinglish' couldn't quite gather as much steam as 'OMG! Oh My God' did a week ago, it still did much better than many other films, both big and small, that have been mere weekend wonders.

The Sridevi starrer showed minimal fall on weekdays and stayed stable at the box office, hence resulting in collections of around 21 crores.

This is a good total for the film which, till the day of release, could well have been looking at this number as its lifetime total.

The film will now cross the 30 crore mark for sure and even 35 crore looks possible. However, with 'Aiyyaa' carrying good reports, 'OMG! Oh My God' proving to be mighty competition week after week and 'Student of the Year' arriving next week, 50 crore total for this Gauri Shinde directed film is out of question.

The battle has been comfortably won but the war is still challenging enough.

The film's biggest win though is the kind of appreciation that it has garnered despite the fact that it had an unconventional title, theme and promotion. Expect 'English Vinglish' to do quite well on satellite as well as the DVD circuit.

On the other hand 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli' could hardly rise from the severe backlash it suffered within hours of its release.

The Sanjay Khanduri directed affair was simply crushed and with other films doing quite strong in theatres, it didn't stand much chance beyond the weekdays either.

After this huge flop, Vivek Oberoi would have his eyes set on Valentines Day release 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story' which is expected to bring him back in the reckoning.
