Actress Monica, who has had her share of sleaze in films like ‘Silanthi’, is all set to step into the shoes of an endearing character, Kavitha. This is for the film 'Varnam' in which the actress plays a school teacher.

Monica will not just play a heroine in this film. Instead, she plays friend and guide to the film’s hero, Giri. The film has a twist, and is about an innocent school boy’s life which changes once he witnesses something that alters his life forever.

'Varnam' is being directed by Raju and has music by Isaac Thomas Kodukapalli. The audio launch for the film was held recently, and the audio was launched by director Balu Mahendra. The film has Sampath playing an important role, and Premkumar cranks the camera. Na Muthukumar and Jayamoorthi have penned the lyrics for the songs.

Speaking about his presence, the director said his good will was the reason. “Everybody asks me why I attend so many events. I don’t do it for time pass. In fact, attending an event takes about half of the entire day. But I don’t want to disappoint people who have given me importance and have invited me. I’m glad that I’m a person liked my so many people in the film industry. Also, it’s only in functions like these that I meet legends of the film industry, be it Madhu Ambat or Balu Mahendra,” Ameer explained.
