Very few are aware of the fact that director Ali Abbas Zafar's father was actually present when the 1971's war of Bangladesh broke out. Ali's father was one of the eye witnesses to experience the entire war atmosphere. From this, the director's father explained and narrated Ali the whole scenario which took place during the 1971 Bangladesh war.

This anecdote helped Ali in such a way that he went on recreating similar scenes and the situation which actually prevailed during the war time. As 'Gunday' is a story of two refugees which is set during the 1970's, Ali took his father's inputs to be used in the film. Confirmed Ali, "My father who was present during the Bangladesh war, use to narrate me all his first-hand experience of the war time which have always stayed with me. I have recreated those moments and imaginations in the film."

Releasing on 14th Feb, 'Gunday' has created immense buzz with the entire chemistry which is shared between Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
