Mr. Perfectionist can be indeed called a man of variety. With his calculative ways, Aamir Khan has always proved his mettle, giving different tastes of movies. After ‘Lagaan’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, Aamir Khan has ventures into a rustic concept, inspired from real social issues.

Bannered under Aamir Khan Productions, ‘Peepli [Live]’ presents the story of Natha a poor farmer of Peepli village. He finds himself in a fix, when he’s about to lose his plot of land due to an unpaid government loan. That’s when he decides to die, to get compensation from government, which has a program that aids the families of indebted farmers who have committed suicide. Although he’s reluctant about the idea, his brother backs him. From here the story takes a twist and what follow next is confusion, media hype, political mayhem… The question on everyone's lips - "Will he or Won't he?"

The film is presented by UTV Motion Pictures and co-produced by Aamir and wife Kiran Rao. The film features Raghuveer Yadav, Omkar Das Manikpuri, Malaika Shenoy, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shalini Vatsa, Farrukh Jaffer, Vishal O Sharma, Naseruddin Shah and Aamir Bashir.

Directed by Anusha Rizvi, ‘Peepli [Live]’ hits the screens on August 13th.
