“There is a lot to learn from Rajinikanth. If Vijay follows the Superstar, he can easily reach the top,” Sun Pictures chief executive officer Hansraj Saxena said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the audio launch of Vettaikkaran in Chennai, Saxena said he conveyed in person to Vijay that the film had been acquired by Sun Pictures from AVM. Thanking AVM Balasubramaniam, he said Vijay would answer to the question as to when the movie would be released.

On ‘Endhiran’, he said Kalanidhi Maran was producing the movie with great interest. “Rajini and Shankar are tirelessly working for the film. It would hit the screens next year,” Saxena said.

In his address, Vijay said he was happy that Sun Pictures had acquired the film. “My thanks to producer AVM Balasubramaniam, Kalanidhi Maran and Saxena,” he said. On the movie, he said that director Babu Sivan had worked hard to make ‘Vettaikkaran’ a great entertainer.

Shankar said that he would direct Vijay in future. “When I conceived ‘Mudhalvan’ storyline, I thought of making the movie with Rajini in the lead. Then I wanted to rope in Vijay. Circumstances however not allowed me to do so,” he said.

Filmmakers K Bhagiyaraj, KS Ravikumar and SA Chandrasekar; actors Srikanth, Shaam, Jeeva, Ramesh, Sibi and Karthi Sivakumar; producers Dhananjayan, ‘Editor’ Mohan, Ramkumar and ‘Abhirami’ Ramanathan; music composer Vijay Antony and playback singers Krish, Suchitra and others took part.
