While the Thane cyclone is making its impact felt in the coast of Chennai, a similar storm is rocking Kollywood too, but in a good way.

For, a dozen films are seeing the light today, all apparently aimed at subsidy from the State government, for movies getting released before the year end.

Some of the movies are that are hitting the screens today are 'Maharaja', 'Mahan Kanakku', 'Paavi', 'Pathinettam Kudi', 'Karutha Kannan C/O Rekla Race', 'Madhuvum Mythiliyum', 'Vazhividu Kanne Vazhividu', 'Vinayaka', 'Abhayam' and 'Vettaiyadu'. A couple of dubbing movies are also there.

Meanwhile, the number of theatres screening Arulnithi's 'Mounaguru' has been increased thanks to popular demand and Vikram's 'Rajapattai' is running in a good number of screens.
