Gaganam

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

Nagarjuna is one star who has done films from all genres cinema world can offer. This is yet another experimental film only Nag could dare to act in.

With no duets and songs or cliched commercial numbers and gravity defying fights, Gaganam is a cinema for audience craving a change from the routine.

Nagarjuna is seen as an officer who saves a flight from hijack.Poonam Kaur plays an air hostess. Prakash Raj who is also producing the Tamil version of the film 'Payanam' is doning a vital charecter in the action packed thriller.

The movie marks Nagarjuna's re-entry into Tamil cinema. His previous films Shiva and Geethanjali released in Tamil too and were a run away success. However, those films were dubbed versions of Telugu movies unlike Gaganam which is a bi-lingual shot in both the languages.

Producer Gaganam is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. Radhamohan's previous directorial venture 'Akashamantha' won critical acclaim and did decent business in the state.  He is known to present variety of human emotions in a single frame tactfully.

Though there aren't  any romantic songs in this flick, a theme song composed by Devi Sri Prasad was released recently. Guhan who handled cinematography for this project has used the Red Camera to shoot the movie.

The buzz around the film is positive and Nagarjuna is believed to have delivered career defining performance in his new avatar. Since it is a bi-lingual the movie is likely to be financially viable for Prakash Raj and Dil Raju. In an industry where formula movie still rule the scripts, this is certainly a path breaking cinema. If this works at the box office, it will change the rules of monotonous scripts in Tollywood and pave the way for innovative stories in our movies.

How the action sequences in the flight take off at the box office for 'Gaganam'  will be known on February 11th.
