Though there have been number of films that released during the first quarter of 2011, there wasn't a single week when two major commercial films clashed with each other. However this is going to happen now with 'Game' and 'F.A.L.T.U' taking on each other.

While the former stars Abhishek Bachchan and Kangna as the star attraction, 'F.A.L.T.U' is made of mostly newcomers. The former comes from the house of Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani while the latter is produced by Vashu Bhagnani who is relaunching his son Jackky. 'Game' is a whodunit thriller while 'F.A.L.T.U' is a campus entertainer. While Abhishek Bachchan is reeling from flops like 'Raavan' and 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se', Jackky Bhagnani is a relative newcomer who is yet to consolidate his position in the industry. While 'Game' still boasts of face value and something for the lovers of edgy thrillers to munch upon, 'F.A.L.T.U' boasts of youth power. While 'Game' looks slick, 'F.A.L.T.U' has some superb chartbusters up it's sleeve that are a rage amongst the youngsters.

All such comparisons mean that both 'Game' and 'F.A.L.T.U' are pretty much running neck to neck and eventually it could be anyone's win. Going by the scale of both the films though, they shouldn't worry about eating into each other's business as they are both medium budget affairs. Even if both the films manage to do open in 50% range (something which looks possible today, though there will be an obvious impact due to World Cup finals on Saturday), they should be happy.

However the collections would have to grow from this point on while relying upon word of mouth since 'Thank You' opens a week later. This is where 'F.A.L.T.U' has an edge since it is a youthful affair and unlike 'Game' where the suspense would be out on Friday itself, this Remo D'Souza directed affair has the potential to enjoy a longer shelf life for itself if it manages patronage amongst the youth.
