The co-accused in the gruesome gang rape in Shimla was found dead Tuesday night and is assumed to have been attacked by the prime accused in the case.
The victim, a school student, was kidnapped on July 4 by the six accused, who raped her and later dumped her body in a forest on July 6.
The police, who are being accused of shielding the prime accused, claimed that all accused were in separate cells. The accused found dead had claimed that he had not raped the girl. Preliminary reports show that he was hit in his private parts.
