After 14 years, Gautami is gearing up to make a strong comeback with filmmaker Kukku Surendran's upcoming horror thriller E which revolves around five mass communication students, who land in Haripad to do a documentary on Alzheimer's patients. In the movie, Gautami essays the role of a music teacher who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.
The actress who is highly impressed with the movie's genre, story and her character, says that playing Malathy Menon helped challenge the actor in her. Her character is a single mother who lost her husband when her child was just 6 years old. The horror side of the story unfolds after the students seek accommodation at a homestay run by Athira, Malathy's daughter. A host of new faces essay the student roles. The movie's shoot is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Haripad now.
