George Reddy Trailer: Romanticizing violence, naxalism

There lived a student leader named George Reddy in the early 1970s at Hyderabad's Osmania University.  'George Reddy' narrates his story, right from his childhood when he was fascinated by Bhagat Singh to the adolescent days when he was smitten by the Russian Revolution saga to the days when he rose to stardom as a student leader.

As per journalist Suresh Kochattil, Reddy was shot dead on 14th April 1972 while walking to Model High School in OU. "I did not agree with his naxal school of thought, but those were the days when PDSU and RSU ruled the roost in OU.  Later, top cop KS Vyas cleaned up the campus of PDSU and RSU cadres and with it, the naxal presence in the campus died a natural death. ABVP later emerged as a force to reckon with and I remember the day when its leader and now BJP MLC Ramchander Rao was shot at near Hilton Cafe," he adds.

The film has been written and directed by Jeevan Reddy of 'Dalam' fame.  Produced by Appi Reddy on Mic Movies, it stars Sandeep Madhav and Satyadev in key roles.  Krishna Chaitanya and others are part of the cast.  'A Man of Action' is its caption.

Music is by Suresh Bobbili.  Background score is by Harshavardhan Rameshwar.  Cinematography is by Sudhakar Reddy Yokkanti, who handled the camera for the Marathi blockbuster 'Sairat'.  Editing is by Karthika Srinivas.
