Go for it...Goa
Friday, January 8, 2010 • Tamil Comments

Yuvan Shankar Raja and Venkat Prabhu always enjoy a good rapport. They have earlier emerged triumphant in 'Chennai 600028' and 'Saroja'. With 'Goa' they have rightly struck a hat-trick.

The likes of Illayaraja, SPB, Chitra, Andrea, Mamtha Mohandas, Yuvan, Bhavatharani and Karthik Raja singing for the album makes it a special one.

Adding to it is the orchestration by Premji, the actor-musician, whose work in three songs Yelelu Thalamuraikkum, Adida Nayaandiay and Ooru Nalla Ooru make them sound special. With folks, western and hip-hop numbers, Goa's music is sure to go places.

Produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the film directed by Venkat Prabhu is all set to hit the screens soon.

1. Yelu Thalamurakkum

Singer: Karthik Raja, Venkat Prabhu, Bhavatharani, Premji and Yuvan

A family song literally. Check out the singers who have come together to sing the number. It is evident from it. More a folkish tune, the soft melody is sure to make the listener brisk. Lyrics sounds interesting.

2. Ooru Nalla Ooru

Singer: Illayaraja

The master of music nay maestro of music has sung the number. A soft melody, quite appropriate for Illayaraja kind of voice, the orchestration by Yuvan is amazing and mind-blowing. A soft number with soft lyrics is cool to listen to.

3. Adida Nayaandiya

Singer: S P B Charan, Yugendran

Watch out! Yuvan is on a roll here. A song symbolising festive spirit, this one is refreshing and reminds one of listening to Raja's number in his heydays. The bright and pacy voice of Charan and Yugendran work out wonders. The USP of the album indeed.

4. Goa....

Singer:  Krish, Ranjith, Tanvi, Suchitra, Chynk Showtyme and Pav Bundy

Perhaps the theme song of the album. A trendy Westernised number, it speaks the spirit of Goa, the preferred holiday destination for many. All is well here. The rhythm, beats, harmony and above all apt singers.

5. Idhu Varai

Singer: Ajeesh and Andrea

Andrea is at her best, you can say. A typical Yuvan number, it is rip-roaring and stylish all through. Yuvan seems to have opted for live drums here. The combination of the instruments provides a new sound. Trendy all the way, the song is pleasant to listen to.

6. Vaaliba Vaa Vaa

Singer: Illayaraja, S P Balasubramaniam and Chitra

The trio who took Tamil film music to greater heights combine together to cast a magical spell here. A melody all the way, this single number is enough to speak of Yuvan's mastery over the medium.

7. Kaadal Endral

Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan's vocals does a mesmerising impact on listeners. A typical Yuvan number, it has catchy instrumentation and music flows freely all through. A short but a sweet number from the junior Raja.

8. Idaivazhi Oru

Singer: Benny Dayal and Mamtha Mohandas

If actress Andrea impressed everyone with her vocals for a number in the album, it is now the turn of actress Mamtha Mohandas to do the same. A romantic number it is sure to become an anthem among youngsters. Mamtha's sensuous voice appeals.

9. Goa (Club-Mix)......

Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Perfect one for the dance-floors. It is racy and riveting. Sure to make its way in discotheques and pubs, the song has good beats and additional percussion. Oozes with youthful energy all along.

Splendid show by Yuvan Shankar Raja in Goa. Listen to the album and get charmed. It is like packing bags and going all the way to enjoy a splendid vacation in Goa.
