If 'Aatank Hi Aatank' would have released today it would have boosted the biggest casting coup of the century- Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan. But around 20 years ago.. this pathetic remake of Godfather by Dilip Shankar was a disaster right from the world go.. even the presence of almighty Rajinikanth couldn,t not save this dud. The dubbed Tamil version Aandavan also met with the same fate.

'Aatank Hi Aatank' is a rarest of rare occasion where Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth are seen together on screen and has some interesting trivia attached to it.

This time it was an SRK ejected role grabbed by Aamir.. SRK is a huge fan of Rajinikanth (remember lungi dance tribute) and he is aware of his limitations as an actor.

But Aamir is more challenging by nature and twenty years back he displayed his flair of perfectionalisms - to get a perfect look in the film, Aamir Khan bought himself a new wig however Director Dilip Shankar was not very convinced but he surrendered in front of Aaamir enthusiasms and regretted later..

Aamir and his favorite Juhi Chawla where paired together.. all went wrong and finally every eye filled with hope turned towards the presence of Rajinikanth in the film. Rajinikanth and director Dilip Shankar even became good friends while shooting for this film and everybody believed the magic of Rajini will create wonders again.

It was the year 1995 a significant year in the life of Rajinikanth - the year Muthu, 'Baasha' got released (Muthu after three years in 1998 gave Rajinikanth a huge base in Japan) but alas couldn,t change the box office baasha (faith) of 'Atank Hi Atank' this film that co starred Aamir playing a gang lord.

How many times to repeat - Rajinikanth is a miracle.. but he is also human.. God he couldn,t save Aamir Khan that time..
