It's known that a handlooms fashion event by name Woven – 2017 has been announced by the Government of Telangana. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the event's brand ambassador. She has even launched a company (by name SVS Partners LLP).
"There is an intriguing response to the “Revive Handloom” contest. The event will see the presence of various dignitaries, business honchos, and IT bigwigs. On this occasion of National Handloom Day, Microsoft is signing a grant. NIFT and Weavers Mart are signing MoU with Woven 2017," a spokesperson says.
The event would be presided by the T Minister KT Rama Rao, Samantha, Microsoft CEO, NIFT Director, and Weaves Mart CEO.
Among film celebs, Naga Chaithanya, Catherine Tresa, Mehreen, and Ritu Verma will grace the event. Several Sports personalities will also turn up.
