'Gunday' has turned out to be yet another good success for Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra. After 'Ram Leela', Ranveer has shown that he has managed to develop a good following in quick time. On the other hand Priyanka Chopra has scored another box office runner after 'Krrish 3'. As for Arjun Kapoor, he can now leave behind the disappointment of 'Aurangzeb' as 'Gunday' would have a much bigger haul than his debut film (and a hit) 'Ishaqzaade'. For filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, the lifetime total of his debut flick 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' has been surpassed in one week flat by 'Gunday'.

With over 63 crore coming in, the film is in a hit zone. However it must be mentioned that after a terrific opening weekend, the film had all going in its favor to surpass the 100 crore mark. As it turned out though, the weekdays were good but not excellent as collections did slide down. The good part though is that the fall wasn't steep enough, which means the film was way past the safety mark.

As was mentioned in this column last week, 80-85 crore is a given total for 'Gunday'. However for it to cross the 100 crore mark (which is quite a stretch), it would all boil down to the second weekend which has to be in the vicinity of 20 crore.
