Aisak Thomas and Martin Devakumar are making their debut as music-composers in Jayabharathy's Gurushetram. The duo has shown their penchant for melodies in the music album.

Gurushetram being directed by Jayabharathy has Sathyaraj, Roja and Vadivelu in the lead roles.

Manamae (Pradeep)

A different beginning. Unlike peppy beats and heavy instruments, the music composers have come out with a typical classical raaga based song. Accompanied by mridangam, flute and violin, the song gives the listeners a different feel. The lyrics aim at instilling confidence on the youngsters. Pradeep croons with effort. His efficiency stands out in this otherwise unremarkable number.

Kathuadicha (Grace)

'Cheena Thana' girl Grace has come up with no different stuff here. The throaty, high-pitched style is in place. The beats and he pulsating rhythms are on predictable lines.

Unfortunately the music and lyrics don't go together and the tune resembles many of the songs heard before.

Panipokkum (Shalini)

A soft number with melodious beginning. Shalini, who otherwise is known for pop songs, has sung this in a husky tone and the music-composers have used very less instruments. Perhaps the pick of the album for it has healthy lyric and is also melodious to listen.

Priya (Krishnaraj, Amudha)

A flat number. Seems to be the inspiration of a recent Malayalam hit number. The music is also quite average and so are the lyrics. But Amudha and Krishnaraj try to infuse the number with an extra life.

Kattipudi (Lalithasagari)

Supposedly a steamy item number in the movie. The music-directors are all over the song using almost all the heavy instruments and percussions in their possession. Unfortunately the 'hot' lyric doesn't suit the music. Lalithasagari also goes for the jugular. But somehow, this all guns blazing effort doesn't work.
