Utilising the five decades ago short play of Parvathavani and bringing it to the present social condition is a big challenge. In this dialogue oriented and well conceived film. The credit for making it interesting and absorbing should go to Dayal Padmanabhan director of the film ‘Haggada Kone’ and actor Naveen Krishna for his dialogues and performing in the convict role. The death sentence for murdering a person with heinous crime is a verbal debate of convict and jailor. In this wordy dual several issues crop up questioning the prevalent system in society. Heads go down in shame for the law makers when clever convict puts before several issues. The high point is the flash back opening before convict faces the death. It is happening in our society at various places. The rape and arrest of modesty of young girl child by some of the affluent in the society is given right treatment by protagonist. The death sentence for the protagonist should have been for the disgusting crime of an old man audience feel. The boundary of this film is limited. We mean the locations. The area of expansion of this film is wide because of contents. The proceedings is important because before one hour of death sentence the convict and jailor several issues surface. Chenna Keshava argues that he has done a crime that is justifiable. You could have argued your case in the court replies jailor. The proof that is major support the court asks is not in the hands of Chennakeshava. The appeal Chennakeshava makes with the jailor is also is blood curdling. Naveen Krishna son of veteran actor touches your heart. It is from his style of delivery of dialogues and the dialogues he has written holds a mirror to the society. Suchindra Prasad as jailor has given a controlled performance. Srinivamurthy as hangman in prison (he is real life father of actor of the film Naveen Krishna) in a simple role very effective. Dattanna, V Manohar, Mohan and Sarigama Viji have supported adequately. The voice over of Kichcha Sudeep a tribute to late Parvathavani is good thought. This could have been placed in the beginning of the film. Promising music director Gautham Srivatsa with one song and background score lifts the film to a different level. Pandikumar in cinematography has given wonderful close up shots and top angle moments. ‘Haggada Kone’ may be dialogue oriented but the concern of the makers Umesh Banakar and Dayal Padmanabhan is laudable.
