'Sangamithra', which was launched amid much fanfare at this year's Cannes Festival, recently hit a roadblock when Shruti Haasan walked out of the project citing lack of proper planning on the part of the makers. The Haasan beauty was to play the role of a gutsy warrior-princess in this mega-budgeted Sri Thenandal Films. In the end, all her guts went into showing the exit gate to director Sundar C!
Ever since Shruti's exit, there has been a hunt for a suitable replacement. And the makers are said to be seriously considering Hansika Motwani for the challenging role.
If everything goes well, they will announce the name sooner than later.
To be music-directed by AR Rahman, the entertainer will go to sets sometime in the last quarter of this year.
