It was earlier widely reported that the film will be remade in Hindi by Lingusamy with Shahid Kapoor playing the lead but things didn't go as planned and now the makers are reportedly planning to take it to Telugu masses.

Top notch film producer Bellamkonda Suresh is touted to have bought the Telugu rights of the film. Hansika has lost a few pounds to fit the role well in 'Singam 2' where she will be seen with Suriya and Anushka Shetty. It's said that she will be seen as a school student in this film.
