Genelia D'Souza turns 24 today. However, if you look at her body of work in the recent years, you may not believe that she is so young. She began as a humble debutante with Tujhe Meri Kasam way back in the year 2003 and impressed us with her cutsie role in Boys.

At that time, no body believed in her potential despite pulling off a teen role in the Shankar film so well. Films like Satyam, Sye and Happy did give her the much needed push. But, it was undoubtedly the brilliant performance of the dimpled actress as Hasini in Bommarillu, that catapulted her to starry status.

That she wowed the critics and won the hearts of the family audiences with the role need not be re-iterated now, especially because she has crossed some watermarks since then. Dhee in Telugu and Chennai Kadhal in Tamil followed immediately after Bommarillu. Both only helped her consolidate her position in Tollywood and Kollywood. Since then films like King, Ready, Orange and a host of others in Tamil and Hindi (Life Partner, Chance Pe Dance, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na) have been released.

Genelia proved her mettle with her portrayal of a psychic patient in Katha, which is easily one of the most under-rated performance by Genelia so far. In Orange, she slipped into the role a naive youngie who loves a difficult Charan, and it would be fitting to say that she emoted stunningly in emotional scenes.

The talented damsel has Naa Ishtam and Tera Naal Love Hogaya scheduled to release in the coming months.

IndiaGlitz wishes her a happy birthday and a successful career in the coming years.
