From being a script-dialogue writer of the 2000s, Koratala Siva has grown up to become one among the top 5 mass directors of the 2010s. That is, with just two films. He is sought-after for his enviable skill at dishing out a mass hit with a film essentially high on class elements.

As a writer, he wrote Bhadra for Boyapati Sreenu. After that, he never had to look back. Having learned things first-hand by writing dialogues for big-ticket films like Munna, Okkadunadu, Brindavanam and Oosaravelli, Koratala waited for the right opportunity to take the big plunge. Like Boyapati, his subsequent directors, namely Vamshi Paidipally, Chandrasekhar Yeleti, and Surender Reddy, were all extremely talented.

When he turned a director, Koratala leveraged the lessons he had learnt by writing for the aforementioned movies and mixed up his unhurried, stylized narration technique. His style has paid dividends. Rich dividends. Not once, but twice. If Prabhas-starrer Mirchi unveiled a new Prabhas, Mahesh Babu-starrer Srimanthudu was a blockbuster to reckon with - unveiling a new Mahesh. Both these films stand out for their superb musical quality, A-rated cinematography, female leads who are both glammed up and command the audience's respect, a hero with strong-minded values, a hero who never talks loose, veterans who enrich the screenplay, so on and so forth.

As Koratala makes his third movie, which is set to release on August 12, we hope to see a brand new, very intense NTR. If Mirchi has Sathyaraj, and Srimanthudu had Jagapathi Babu, Janata Garage has Mohanlal - a superstar at that.

IndiaGlitz wishes Koratala a very happy birthday. May his narration style earn him more and more accolades in the coming year!
