It is Rajamouli’s convictions and sensibilities, more than any rare story-telling knack or an extraordinary finesse, that have made him what he is today. More than anything, it is the scope for enriching the scenes with emotions that matters the most to him. "We know the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharatha, yet to go to watch whenever a movie based on these Epics is made. How much interestingly you narrate your film is what matters", he says.

From being called the most focussed director by Suresh Babu to having swept Shankar off his feet, Rajamouli achieved everything with Eega, Telugu cinema’s most reputable magnum opus in the recent times.

As Keeravani has said, a new Rajamouli was born during the writing and making of Maryada Ramanna. This kind of rebirth, believe many, is crucial in the creative life of any enduring artist or creator or writer. Whether or not we will see more and more experimentations, simple but ingenious ideas like Eega in the future is uncertain, but it is clear that when it comes to being intelligent and veritable, Rajamouli belongs to a league of his own.

What explains Rajamouli's curioisty for trying a variety of themes is the fact that he is inspired by everything from apparently juvenile ideas (like Vijayendra Prasad’s man-reincarnating-into-fly idea) to now-forgotten films like Karan-Arjun to larger-than-life royal stories.

IndiaGlitz wishes the director a very happy birthday!
