One doesn't remember when was the last time a film performed so consistently well at the box office right from the day if it's release till the end of first week. 'Haunted', which opened on (an expected) below average note on Friday saw gradual rise in collections over the weekend, only to stay on to be very consistent for the rest of the week. With collections refusing to slide down and audiences continuing to throng theaters to check out what Vikram Bhatt had churned out in 3D, 'Haunted' went on to score quite well with over 14 crores coming in. Now these are very good collections for a film which has been made in medium budget. Also, the film has now acted like a shot in the arm of Mahakshay Chakraborty who can finally leave the demons of his debut film 'Jimmy' behind. As for Vikram, he can well be expected to churn out many more horror flicks from this point on.

One hopes Yash Raj Films doesn't do something similar for their 'youth films' wing if films like 'Luv Ka The End' are what they intend to churn out in future as well. The film stayed on to be on a low note right through it's first week with a little over 4 crores coming in. Again, since the film has been made at such a low cost, it would end up being a recovery affair from the commercial perspective. However amongst the audience, this one is a downer and not quite the campus chic flick that one would have wanted to come out of Bollywood.
