Heated Exchange of Words in the Nadigar Sangam Battle
The Nadigar Sangam Elections are just round the corner and the incumbent team led by Sarathkumar and the challengers led by Vishal are leaving no stone unturned in trying to outdo each other to garner the votes of the 3500 members. Here we bring you the war of words between the two teams during their recent press interactions.
Sarathkumar
Everything the Vishal team says Is baseless and has no truth in it and I am sure that it is Kamal Haasan who is behind this and he is ungrateful for all the help I have done for him during the troublesome days of 'Vishwaroopam' and 'Uttama Villain'.

Someone is behind Vishal Reddy and Karthi Sivakumar and instigating them to oppose Sarathkumar. He has been silent so far to all the baseless allegations of the opposition but now we have filed a defamation case and will face them in the court of law. Like a political party they have given an election manifesto stating that they will make sure Rupees thirty lakhs per month income will be generated but they do not say how. I asked Vishal face to face and he said that they will act in films and bring the income it is laughable as his last movie failed to collect even five crores and the satellite rights have not been sold yet. We all will try and the winner or loser is not in our hands but I request the Pandavar Ani not to break the years of friendship between the actors.

I ask supporters please don't get into the trap of someone who tries to break a family. Youngsters support hoping good will happen. Dhanush feels bad that you are doing nasty things. He asked me, why can't we do anything to bring unity?If needed we will revoke our nominations for the elections. That is not out of fear about you. We will do that for the unity of the family. People will be confused because they saw me in the other camp and now they are seeing me here that is because I respect those who respect me. Because I was there yesterday it did not mean I don't need these people and because I am here now it does not mean I don't want them. My intention is that if the Nadigar Sangam splits now it will be permanent and I don't want that. I request everyone to assemble in the Raghavendra hall on the 11th of October and let us all discuss and make things right and let us refrain from making personal attacks and work for common good. My own son Shantanu is going on a tour to seek votes in all the major cities I have asked him to tell Vishal and the others not to make any allegations.

A question that we asked has resulted in this elections. In 2014 during a general body meeting they (Sarathkumar and Radharavi) promised that during the Thai month (Jan 15 - Feb 15) they will start the building and if they fail they will accept Vishal's proposal of constructing the building by the efforts of members. They failed again and when we questioned again Sarath said that we should trust him as the President and if we did not then we should face the next elections.

I went to court two years back against the Nadigar Sangam Charitable Trust, which should have 9 Executive committee members but Radharavi and Sarathkumar without consulting any other member have entered into an agreement with SPI Cinemas for 29 years an 11 months. A Single bench judge has passed that it is wrong and they went for an appeal where it was rejected. Now the only option for them is to go to the Supreme Court which they cannot.

I learnt my dance there and my journey as an actor began there and suddenly when I saw the building brought down me and some of my friends asked why expecting an answer. The Nadigar Sangam building was built by MGR, Sivaji, SSR and other legends and it was for us. For all the impoverished drama artistes I want to assure only one thing and that is my Padavar Ani will do good for them and we will even give up our lives to make sure we do that.
