It's a curious case of two of the biggest films currently in making ending up disappointing (at best) the folks, or inviting hooting laughter at worst. Between them, their budget is pegged at more than Rs. 450 cr. Between they, they will do a pre-release business of more than Rs. 800 cr when they hit the screens in 2017. Yet, they haven't excited the audience with their respective first looks.

When the First Look of 'Baahubali-2' was released last month at a film festival, many who had expected a dekko felt it was a dampener. Much as the war cry in the motion poster ticked, the look itself came to be dubbed as mediocre by many. As they wondered, 'Is it fan-made?'

As if Rajamouli's damp squib wasn't enough, Shankar pulled off his part to water down the huge expectations of fans. While Akshay Kumar's crow man look is fascinating, the depiction of the face-off between Chitti, the Earth's defender, and the Crow Man scientist who has gone rogue, is more of an inspiration. People pulled out the posters of such films as 'Captain America: Civil War' to take a swipe at Shankar.

Although posters or even teasers/trailers are not always a microcosm of what is in store in a film, big-budgeted projects need to live up to expectations right from day one.
